GBRU is registered with the Arizona Corporation Commission. This is not the same as accreditation. The State of Arizona does not accredit religious institutions. Only religious bodies offer accreditation to religious institutions. Registration with the Arizona Corporation Commission shows that GBRU is qualified and registered to grant religious certificates, diplomas and degrees in the State of Arizona and that it meets the regulations of the State.
Grace Bible Reformed University as a religious institution is exempted from higher education licensing process stated in (ARS § 32-3022) License to grant degrees in the state of Arizona. This section does not apply to religious degrees which are used solely for religious purposes within a religious organization which has tax exempt status from the internal revenue service. GBRU is a tax-exempt university with an Employer Identification number.
Therefore, Grace Bible Reformed University is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
